Hoist

Hoist is the Rescue Bot force's Tow-Bot.

He used to be scared of Dinobots. Apparently, science isn't his brightest subject according to him, despite the fact he was once a spaceship repair bot and an aspiring inventor. The other recruits got Hoist to create new rescue tools for them to use, including a winch whip for himself. Hoist was discouraged when the first test of the tools was a dismal failure, but the other recruits got Boulder involved and Hoist successfully perfected the tools. Hoist created the Scrub-A-Dubber to clean up the academy for them while the teachers were away, however the recruits plugged so many power pods into it that it became out of control and they had to trap it in Heatwave's office. The Sparksayer gifted Hoist with a new plasma cutter which he was able to use during a volcano rescue.

With his new Mul-T-Cog, Hoist is able to transform into a Dinobot, courtesy of Grimlock. He also happen to grow a friendship with Sludge and Snarl.

His mentor is Grimlock. Now he's passing time with Grimlock, training.

Him being afraid of Dinobots has been a running tag in the series.
He's the first of the Rescue Bots recruit to turn into a Dinobot.
In the season 2 episode "Museum Mystery" there is a scene where Chase and Whirl confront Evan and Miles in their garage lab. In the background there is a drawing of Hoist and Whirl in the background. The Cybertronian translation around the image is as follows: "Hearts of Cybertron".
Hoist seems to enjoy cute or even femenine items, such as in the episode "Fright at the Museum" when he remarked the earring he was wearing was his colour.
